Steel Asia turns over tents to city government

February 6, 2017 By

Steel Asia Manufacturing Corporation turned over 50 ready-to-install multi-purpose tents to the city government Monday.

“We are very thankful to Steel Asia for giving these tents to the city. The tents will be very useful, especially during festivities,” said City Administrator Zuleika Lopez of the tents that measure 10×10.

“The city has festivities every year so we thought it was a good idea to provide tents for the city,” said Ma. Teresa Pacis, Steel Asia’s assistant vice president for corporate communications.

Pacis said the city has been very supportive of their business and the giving away of tents is their way of thanking the city for its hospitality.

Steel Asia, the largest steel manufacturing company in the country, inaugurated its P3-Billion Davao plant in 2014. However, the company has been operating in the city since 2012.

The Davao Mill is considered the most modern in the country today. It was built in anticipation of the surge in government and private infrastructure projects in Mindanao.

Company officials said the plant has been enjoying good business in Davao because of the economic boom in Southern Mindanao and the city’s peace and order. CIO
