Traffic office in full force for Semana Santa 2017
The City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) said it will deploy close to a thousand personnel and enforcers for the Semana Santa or Holy Week to respond to various traffic situations.
The deployments started last Sunday, April 9, during the Palm Sunday mass.
CTTMO Chief Dionisio C. Abude said on Monday that they have laid out plans as Catholic faithfuls are expected to flock to churches for various religious activities this week. These include Palm Sunday, Station of the Cross, Santo Entiero Procession, Easter Vigil Mass and Easter Sunday celebration.
Abude said aside from traffic management, the CTTMO will also restrict the activities of ambulant vendors as they might cause traffic obstructions.
He said his office will also be deploying towing vehicles to assist motorists, who might encounter problems with their vehicles. CIO
