Davao City LGU extends help to fire victims
The City Social Services and Development Office (CSSDO) will be releasing more than P5 million in cash assistance to victims of Friday’s fire in Barangay Sasa.
At least 708 families were displaced by the fire that started past 10 am.
“We hope to release (the cash assistance) sooner after proper validations are made by the social workers in the area,” CSSDO Chief Maria Luisa Bermudo said.
Bermudo, however, clarified that even before any cash assistance could be provided, the CSSDO already distributed non-food assistance like dignity kits, mats and blankets to the affected families.
Hot meals were also served them, which were prepared by two mobile kitchens the city government has dispatched.
The Kusina ng Bayan for the fire victims would continue until Sunday night. CIO
